Q. Will ProofShare work on my Mac?
A. No, unfortunately apple iOS and Mac OS are two different platforms and the app will NOT work on your mac computer.
Q. Can I give or sell the ProofShare slideshow to my client?
A. Yes, absolutely! You can play the live slideshow during your in person sales session (IPS) but there is also an option to “export slideshow.” You can choose to export it to your iPad or Dropbox. If you choose Dropbox, you will later be able to do anything you want with the slideshow (it’s an HD mp4 file) such as gift or sell it to your client, burn it to DVD or copy to a USB or even just send them the dropbox link so they can download it. You can also upload the slideshow to your youtube or vimeo and then embed it on your website or post to Facebook or other social media.
Q. Does ProofShare include licensed music?
A. We now have the option to license award winning Triple Scoop Music songs right from inside the app! If you don’t see this option in the music section under “Add New Slideshow” please go to the App Store app on your iPad and make sure you update to the latest version of ProofShare.
Q. Can I hook up my iPad to an HDTV, Projector or Computer monitor?
A. Yes definitely, this is what we do at our studio! All you need is a standard HDMI cord and an adapter by apple. Which adapter will depend on which iPad model you have. For older iPads with the 30 pin charger use this one: http://amzn.to/1LM3s93 for newer iPads with the lightning chargers use this one: http://amzn.to/1LM33U2
Q. Can I mirror my iPad wirelessly via Apple TV to my TV or Computer Monitor?
A. Yes! The only glitch we have found in this solution is the live slideshow. Sometimes it works smoothly, but sometimes there seems to be a delay or jumpiness when mirrored via Apple TV. Remember that Apple TV is WiFi dependent and many things can effect the quality of that connection. For that reason the safest most dependable connection is via HDMI cord (see above). However, if you really do want to use apple TV we recommend exporting the slideshow to your iPad (it will save to your camera roll) and playing that saved video rather than the live slideshow. That will be less likely to have any glithces and have the added advantage of filling up the widescreen TV width wise as the exported slideshow is a 16:9 ratio like most TVs these days vs the iPad screen which is a squarer 4:3 ratio.
Q. Do I need internet connection to use the app?
A. Nope! The initial import of images to create the gallery is the only step that requires WiFi. Once you’ve done that, the images are stored safely in the app’s database on your iPad and can be accessed even when no internet connection is available.
Q. Can I share a link to view the gallery of images with my client?
A. No. Proofshare stores the images locally on your iPad, not online in the cloud anywhere where it can be shared with others. The app was designed for photographers to share images with their clients in person – there are many other wonderful solutions for online galleries! However, our hope is that if you transition to doing in person sales you will say “good riddance” to online galleries once and for all!
Q. How do I change the gallery cover image?
A. Press the pencil icon under the gallery you want to change to enter edit mode. Then, double tap on any image to make it to the new cover image. We recommend using a landscape oriented image for best results.
Q. How do I unsort one or more images or reset the gallery?
A. To “unsort” an image or multiple images, go to it’s pile (yes, no or maybe) and tap the image(s) once to select. Then, double tap in the top bar and the app will ask if you wish to send them back to the unsorted pile. To reset the whole gallery, double tap in the top bar while in unsorted view.
Q. How do I resize my logo on the homescreen?
A. Double tap on it. Use your fingers to spread/pinch the logo to size and then tap once somewhere else on the screen to “set” the size.
Q. Help, I’m trying to add a song and the white box for “add music” keeps closing!
A. This means ProofShare was not granted proper permissions to your music Library. Please go to your iPad settings and find the ProofShare app and grant all permissions to the app.
Q. Help – I cannot find where to add music to my slideshows!
A. You must create a new slideshow style. To do that, press the play button inside gridview of any gallery (not the play button from the homescreen, that one only plays existing slideshows.) Choose “Add new slideshow” from the dropdown. You will see the options to choose songs as well as slideshow transitions etc. Once saved, you will be able to play that slideshow style in ANY client gallery either from the play button on the homescreen or from the play button inside gridview.
Q. Help, my slideshow has no sound!
A. Even though you may not realize it, your iPad is muted. Yes, even though you can play music in the iTunes music app, your iPad is STILL muted. The reason is that Apple made the music app and all other apple native apps IMMUNE to muting, which is very confusing because no one realizes that the iPad is actually muted. (Trust us, we’ve trouble shot this issue several hundreds of times and in every single case, the iPad was on mute without the user knowing!) One surefire way to tell is that if you type on a muted iPad, it will make no “clicking” sound.
Thankfully this is a VERY simple fix: For all iPads OTHER than the iPad Air 2, there is a physical side switch that when flipped will usually unmute the iPad. If it still does not unmute or if you have an iPad Air 2, the mute button is found by swiping up swiftly from the bottom of your iPad to open the iPad control Panel. There you will find a bell icon which controls muting.
